New to Cub Cadets
Hello everyone. Just picked up my first Cub Cadet. Told it was a 1968, but he didn't know the model. It isn't on the serial tag on back of tractor, just 256315. Any help pointing me where to find the model would be appreciated. Got my find in an old barn on a farm and for 1968 looks pretty good. Motor is free, but no spark. I will be checking out over the next couple weeks.

I️ think I replied to this already my good man. It’s a 105/125 depending on the hp of the motor. Should be a decal on left and right side of fiberglass dash

No model
Thank you for the quick reply. There is nothing on the dash referring to a model. The left side over the shifter is blue and empty. The motor plate is there, but totally unable to make out what it may have said. Is there any characteristics of the motor which would at least advice the HP?

Data plate on engine should say either k-241 (10hp) or k-301 (12hp)

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
