2155 problems
Okay so I bought a new 2155 I think.Somebody has done some pretty major surgery to whatever this thing is. It has the controls on the right hand fender for a 2150 but it has a hydrostatic rear axle The controls on the fender are not hooked to anything. And someone has stuck a 16 horse V-Twin into it. I bought it without the deck And a snow plow hanging on the front of itSomeone really must have wanted to push snow. This thing has Egg tires snow chains homemade lead wheel weights And calcium chloride filled tires.I didn't get much for it and I have a complete other transaxle if that one has problems which I'm thinking it might. When I go to take off It makes a squealing noise Starts moving and Eventually we'll get up to speed but it's sluggish. Any ideas what the squealing noise is?I just got it and have not change the hydrostatic filter on it yet.Should I do that or just put the other hydrostat in it?

I bought a 2155 new in 97. Still use it today. All in all it’s been a good little tractor. It could be those blue things that go in the shaft coupler causing your issues. They’re not hard to take the hydro out and have a look see.i doubt that the pump is bad but definitely change out fluid to synthetic with a new filter. I’d like to swap in a twin 18 on mine one of these days. Good luck!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
