Default Question about mower belts.

I was wondering about the "Huskee" Deck belts sold at Tractor supply. Will they give good service? Any experience with them would be appreciated.

I have not personally used them so I can't comment on those specifically.

What I will say/recommend is check out Napa belts. They are what I use and the current mule drive belt I have on my Super is on it's 3rd season with no signs of giving up. Another good, more expensive, option is just to use Cub Cadet belts. They also make a nice black rubber band.

I tried a kevlar blue belt on my 782, with 50C deck, it lasted more than an hour before it shredded,---- they returned my $$$$
Usually I get a couple of years ---(200 hrs) on a Good year insta-power belt.
Maybe it was a bad belt as others here seem to have good luck with TSC belts.
There were no problems with my drive when the TSC belt failed.
The new Good year belt that I installed when it arrived, lasted as expected verifying no problems with the deck drive.
TSC does have a good return policy of customer satisfaction, in my area anyway.

I run the husky belts, I have one off my 108 that has 4 season on it and it still looks new. I have only ever ran Huskee belts on all my Cub's and I've never had an issue and the price is unbeatable.

Default follow up

Went ahead and bought the huskee belts at TSC. Cut 2 acers today with no issues, (some was very high grass) So will see as time goes by. If they hold up, as Olds said the price can't beat.

Nothing wrong with plain old Napa belts.
If I need 2 or more (to justify shipping) I order from V-belt supply. They are usually 1/2 or less of what a dealer wants. I've been running their blue Kevlar on lawnmowers lately with no problem.
I would vote for genuine CCC belts, but I had one on a Super that only lasted about 1 1/2 years.
I don't know who makes them but there is a brand call Q Power that are pretty good at a great price. I think they are primarily ag belts though, so their offerings won't be large. I put most of the ones on a combine with this brand and have had no problems.

Don't know what you are paying for TSC belts but a 5/8 x 88 "
Goodyear Insta_power belt for my setup runs less than $15 shipped.
And that is a top of the line, made specifically for twists and back side idlers like mule drives.
but you have to order it, not just casually stop @ TSC or where ever, and pick it up in stock,---- and that is a convenience when it is needed now.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
