How much weight are you running on you GT with a snow blower on it? I have chains and a QA42 and about 60lbs on the rear. I still have traction problems.

I don't think 60lbs is nearly enough... For my snow blade I'm running about 350lbs of weight then myself...

Last winter I had 150lbs on my 106 in addition to my 160 and chains and it had enough traction to push my Qa36a through 2ft of snow. With a 42 inch thrower you will probably want to add more than that seeing as the 42 inch thrower is going to be heavier than the 36.

I am running 9 gallons (each) of windshield washer fluid in 26x12x12 tru-powers, which put's them at roughly 100lbs'ish each, no chains. I have no traction issues when I drive it right..

60lbs total weight is a bit too light, adding washer fluid is cheap and easy. Just remove rears, and lay them on thier side. Let all the air out, PARTIALLY break the bead on the up side and pour in. Re-set the bead and fill to pressure..

This is the set up I use to blow/throw snow:

There is no extra weight in or on the tires. Tractor has 10.50 turf tires and 2 link chains. Tractor has a manual trans (only 500 to 600 units made). Snow thrower is 44 inches wide. Tractor was new in 1996.

My blade tractor:

Rear tires are 23-8.50-12 ags that are loaded with fluid. Wheel weights are from a green tractor. Paid $35 for the set.

Once in awhile I have a traction problem.....usually on ice.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
