Just an update to the 129 that was in a flood.
I drained the water out of the crankcase, pulled the head off it and saw the valves going up and down, so I cleaned up the carbon, put a new head gasket in, pulled off the breather checked in there. Pulled the points cover looked in there, cleaned the dirty water out of the carb, put it back together. The switch didn't weather the flood so well so I hot-wired it and pulled the choke touched the s/g and in about two tries , away she went! I let it high idle for a bit drained the milky looking oil out, put in new and fired it up again. I can't believe how well it runs. Might be my best running engine. Of course it still has the balancers in it, the ones I rebuilt don't. Now I reget not putting them in. This engine weathered a Midwest winter with that water in it too. Of course the hydro is fine, I drained that and put on a new filter and new hytran Now tear it apart and restore it. I just wanted to see it all work before I restored it. Terry

Thanks for the compliment. I enjoy working on my wide frames
but I like the looks of narrow frames.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
