Default 1961 Cub International Cadet restored

Hi guys,

Just got his 1961, don't know too much about them. Was hoping to get a little help from the experts! What is the value of a Cadet like this? Thanks!

It's a beautiful example of a very nicely restored tractor. Care to share the backstory of how you happened to come to own it?

It seems to be about as good as it gets!

I bought this to help out a friend that was in need of money. I know it was in the family for a long time and was restored within last 5 years. Trying to help him and sell it and hopefully be able to give him some money back. I just have no idea where to start on an asking price. Thanks for the feedback.

Mods will probably move this to the “what’s it worth” section which is where it belongs. Fine example of a nice O, looks like it only needs the correct muffler. I won’t comment on price but like has been said, very nice Original, keeper if you ask me.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
