Nice! I was planning on using that, but TSC was sold out when I stopped in on Friday. I picked up some garnet sand, I hope it will be aggressive enough!

Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see this one shine.

Fantastic work Todd! That was nice to share a picture of a worn axel carrier bushing.

Todd,
the lift arm stop uses the same bolt as the seat but I think it may be a little longer, but it will prolly be rust free.

Ah, good point. Thanks Lew
Here is the new wiring harness from Mike. Great job Mike, thanks
And here is the axle tubes. Not really the way they were meant to be Did someone ever drill out the tubes and try putting a higher thickness bushing in with the 1" id for the axles? Hope I'm explaining so you can understand what I'm talking about

Todd, I mixed up some epoxy like stuff, JB weld if you will, put it in the egg shape and then sand it down to make it round again, then put bushings in. I tried to get a machinist to make them accept bigger bushings but he couldn't chuck them in his lathe. Mine have been leak free so far. If not, Your buddy in new joisey has some for sale I think.

Yep, talked with that buddy today, and it was mentioned you were going to try and do something with your tubes. That got me to thinking that just maybe there was hope for these axle tubes yet.
I'm going to go into town tomorrow and see if there is any hope for the axle tubes, and while I'm there going to have him look at the spindles and see what if anything can be done to correct that end.

Guess we're going with the JB Weld on the axle tubes. And he's building up my spindles. Said, "don't worry about it, they'll be good as new". Okay!
Also pulled the shifter apart. Need to weld the cup so figured I may as well clean everything up and ready for paint.

Todd,
Just getting caught up on the "O" restoration progress. Impressed as usual with your patience and work on these Cub projects. On the machining of the egg shaped holes. Remember the factory had to machine that area too. They may have had some fixturing. JB weld may work to. I have found a lot of this kind of worn out stuff on the tractor projects I have been attempting too.
I think your progress looks great. Shop is awesome as always! Could use some of your good shop practices in mine
The beard is looking awesome!
Regards,
Chris

Todd

Looking good as always. If you have not done the JB weld on the tubes yet you may want to consider this stuff.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
