Hello. I have a 2084 super and wanted to know if I can bypass safety switch to mow in reverse?
Thanks

We cannot recommend you make any modifications to the safety system on your tractor.
That said, can you? Yes, you can do anything you like to your tractor. We just can't recommend bypassing a safety device. |

FYI: Mowing in reverse is the best way to mulch and cut up leaves, without question.

I find it cuts them up no matter what direction I'm driving.

My "Ricky dink" Weedeater 1 has a switch position so you can mow in reverse without the engine shutting off. (Makes it nice for my "postage stamp" size backyard) Lots of stopping, backing up and turning.

Yes,yes it does. Then there are also garden tractors and green imposters. One's just better than the other.

Also had a red 782 cub, a yellow and cream 1440 cub , and a yellow 646 case, besides the "Ricky dink" Weedeater 1, the 782 will mow in reverse, and so does the 1440, me thinks the PO's did a little bit of wire mods.

Depending on SN, the 782 may not ever have had a reverse cut out switch.

I prefer not to mow in reverse, as my neck begins to hurt after 30 minutes or so.
Then there is the left/right right conversion factor, IE: is my left now my right? Which way do I turn the steering wheel to go left and wind up in the right place? It is all so confusing!! Makes me remember the John Deere tractor that showed up @ an auction back in the 70's when grain prices plummeted to unheard of lows. It had no seat or steering wheel, the auctioneer said it was prefect for the farmer that had lost his ass and didn't know which way to turn. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
