Default 1650 Carb Inlet Elbow

I just picked up a new to me 1650 and I am looking to get it running again after the PO torn it down to repaint. It is missing the carb inlet elbow, does anyone know what size mnpt the carb takes, and the hose barb size?

Also where is the oil drain and filter located at? I did a quick scan last night and could only see the Hydo filter. I would like to change the oil as it has been sitting for awhile.

The oil drain is located on bottom side of engine right behind front axle. It's a square plug. There isn't an oil filter though.

The Carb Fuel Inlet Fitting is available from your local Cub Cadet or Kohler Dealer. If those are not feasible, you can obtain the parts from any of our sponsors as listed above. Click on image to expand out and obtain part number.

And if you want to change the Hytrans fluid, get a new rear cover gasket and some IH HYtrans fluid ...the rear cover removes and that is how it drains. You fill it to the level of the fill plug on the cover.

I think you will find that the carb is threaded for an 1/8 inch-27 NPT. My 1650 has a 3/8 fuel line so I assume (you know what the saying for that is) that the barb would be considered a 3/8. All my other tractors (even the ones with a 30 mm carb run a 1/4 inch fuel line. Must be something specific to a 16 hp cub cadet. Any hardware store worth it's salt should have this fitting.

Thanks cwmcbee, that was the info that I was looking for. I knew the part could be purchased thru one of the sponsors, but I did not wish to wait for such a common fitting, nor did I wish to pay the additional amount for it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
