I've had a couple of 100s. While I've really gotten into the 82 series, I regret selling both of those 100s. Take a look at my website...it has a few pictures of the second one that I really regret getting rid of

It is worth the $150 to fix the clutch. If you were to buy some other 100, there is no guarantee that it wouldn't need the clutch rebuilt, too, and if it's never been out of the tractor, it needs rebuilding. Most gear drive CCs out there are probably in need of a clutch rebuild.

Looking at it i would start with an offer of 300-350 for it,and it should be worth up to 425 or so,with the two sets of weights and lights.

It's a great looking 100. I think would be well worth the investment to fix it up. You have to remember, these tractors have lasted 40 years or so and are still running . It is hard to say that about stuff made today. Also everyone here is very helpful and can get you thru the hard stuff. Manuals are available and parts are available. be careful tho, this leads to what is known as Yellow Fever. I have yet to see many that don't catch it hehehe.

What is everyones opinion of a cub 100? are they good. I have a cub 1000 already im currently rebuilding. I like the projects. but I just want to make sure it will be usable and not just a pretty antique toy to set around. thanks everyone.
My 100 and 70 are the most used Cubs I own.

This is how I broke in the motor on my 100

70 had only 4 to 5 hours on restoration when it went to Ohio Plow Day

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
