How much is a cub cadet 100 worth? It does run but the clutch is out. Any ideas?

Location, condition and addions determine the price of cubs. Pictures help alot!

Are you saying that the clutch is out meaning that you let out the clutch and the tractor doen't move? More details please.

If the clutch is out ie not working teaser spring, clutch disc, main spring and fiber disc might need to be replaced and pressure plates might need to be refaced. You would have to take the clutch apart to replace and worn/broken parts and rebuild it. Not very hard but be safe doing it. MattG has a great tool he made to rebuild clutches on his website. You could have your local dealer rebuild it for you and order parts or contact our site sponsers at the top of the page for replacement parts.

Here the pics of it. I have not started it yet. he says it runs good. He said he bought it a couple years ago from his neighbor who had either just rebuilt the motor or just replaced it. I dont remember which he said.

Looks to be in good shape,Lights and the weights are a plus,so is the 42" mower deck.Clutch will cost you around 100.00 to fix, then it should last you another 30 years!!!Looks like it would be a good one to buy.

sorry i dont mean to be to broad. I just am trying to figure out if I want to invest in the tractor. If were talking $150 or less to "fix" the clutch problem then im ok with that.

What is everyones opinion of a cub 100? are they good. I have a cub 1000 already im currently rebuilding. I like the projects. but I just want to make sure it will be usable and not just a pretty antique toy to set around. thanks everyone.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
