Default Just got bit again!!! 1250 or 129?

I just bit again!!! My wife is none to thrilled with me.. I just bought a 75% together 129. I thought I was gonna be able to mix the two, to get one good tractor... I know I might get yelled at for this one.. but my yard is just to much to cut my a 21" push... My whole "cub kick" is starting to kick back.

Wife or cubs? She doesn't get it, I just want a working tractor... and I am not going to anything else now.. "IH CUB's FOR LIFE"

Now my 1250 is at about 90%. I am changing hydros..(long, and ongoing--don't ask.) I would love the 4+ collection, like many others... I need help!

What are the suggestions?? I am turning to my cubby's!

Keep going, might as well make it an even 4. Ok here's what you do. Get 4 and outfit each one differently for the 4 seasons like some here do. Tell everyone that even when having 4 of these you still haven't spent the same money as one bought from Home Cheapo, you'll be the smartest guy in your neighborhood, done. Wife can't argue with that.

would love to. I need cash to get one of the two running/working.. I need the cubs running, at least one.. I guess I was looking at which one seems to be the better one... please no hole tearing... But I need to probably put one up for adoption. I don't even have the 129 home yet....

Honestly sounds like the 1250 is closest to being ready so I would concentrate on that one. It's hard to have so many projects going at once, becomes overwhelming

Mention to the wife that it would help speed things up a bit in the fixing of the tractors if she was to look for a part time job to bring in a little extra cash

Geez, Zippy, if he says that to her, he better sell one so he can either buy a more comfortable couch or build a bigger shed to put a bed in.

What I would ADVISE you to do:

Pick the one that is closest to working for task at hand, and sell the other. There will be others come along at a future time.

What I would actually DO:

Keep them both and take them both apart down to the last bolt. Shrug off wife unit expressing displeasure. Continue to mow with push mower.....

If there's one thing I've learned in my short time on this big blue spinning ball is that women CAN and WILL argue with whatever they feel like, whether it makes sense or not (this may be worse at some times of the month than others, however )

Edit: Keep them both. My "limit" of 3 may soon be 4 since I can't turn down a $140 running 129!!

...sounds like a date night...or two...might need to be scheduled. As long as she knows she is still your #1 priority ... been here many times myself.

But as they have said above, get one good working unit and then let time be the deciding factor of when the others come along.

Good luck.

Thanks much to everyone.. I will probably keep both... Aside from my wife's displeasure.. I know it would be a no brainer for the closest to be done.. And hey, I already mowed my acre with a push this long.. I am really hoping that I can get her running for next year..

Thanks again,

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
