Default Front PTO carbon button
The tractor is a Cub Cadet 72 with a snow thrower. The front PTO button that pushes the clutch in is breaking almost every time I use the blower. Not a huge replacement project but, it's getting annoying. I believe I bought these at Part Tree.com. Is there a source that has better quality ones?

As a note, even the fiber ones should last longer. You need to figure out what the real issue is. It may be due for a PTO rebuild.

Thanks, I've had this machine for decades and thought I knew it pretty well. The button performs a simple function so real issue could be tricky to find.

I have broken one before when installing it. You aren't cracking the stem on installation are you?

Is the linkage properly aligned and is the button in the center of the clutch in good condition?

If it's not centered, it wears the fiber buttons.

I did a thread on the first brass PTO button I made for myself. I got 5 years out of it and could have gotten a few more out of it

Thank you all for your suggestions. My suspicion is that the linkage was adjusted too tight and the two buttons were constantly rubbing (overheating?).
