We have the three turn CCC boxes on a 1450 and a 128... The range of travel on the steering arm seems to be the same.. the effort required is alot less.. My mom asked if we had put power steering on the 1450... she loves it..
I would highly recommend it on any older cub!

1050, 1204, 1210, 1211, 1806, 1810, 1811, 1812. these are what i can think of off the top of my head.

Yes thank you, I have a super steer axle all ready to go, new drilled and tapped zerks, new rod ends and was wondering if travel was the same...Now that I think of it the wheel does sit higher on my 1250 vs my 169...That was made mostly of junkyard parts too, I'll have to see if it's a 3 turn.....Both turn with one finger but I have ribs on them and like to add more camber...

Would a 1720 cub steering be a 3 turn? I found an add on a parting out cub...

The 1720 is a lawn tractor, it's much smaller and the parts won't fit a gt.

I'm gonna get killed here, but i gotta confess. First, you gotta know I kept the Cub parts.
The Ross steering box from a green tractor - 10 or 12 horse - forget now what the model no is - maybe a 210 or 212 - will fit with a little work. And they were not hard to find a few years ago. It gives you the 3 turns. It is a big help but not quite power steering. I found it a welcome improvement. The shaft is longer than a 129 or a 123 but the screw fits right in the cub box. Watch the bearings - they are different and you must match the races but there is enough parts between the two to do the job. The box from the green rig mounts different so I bent a couple of bars to modify the fit and use the larger box on one of my Cubs. Remember - I kept the original Cub parts so they can be restored someday. |
