You can always flip it over, the back and front of the metal disc are the same as they are not marked.

Default 105 QA36 PTO repair

83EDC9CF B506 46B2 AEA6 D6A6B13235A

Removed PTO because it was slipping, and starting to squeal. Found the pressure spring bent (see photo), and the clutch bearing dry and making noises. Ordered a “Master” PTO rebuild kit, and the one thing not included was the pressure spring. $30 for just the spring. I have no issues with the seller because a clear picture of the kit was provided in the ad. I rebuilt this PTO 4-5 yrs ago, and remember the spring looked very compressed after adjusting the double nut machine screws with the gauge, but after checking several forums it sounded like that was normal. This PTO is only used for running a QA36. I don’t know if I messed up the adjustments, or the heavy use and wild temp swings here, or both caused the failure. Going to proceed very carefully with the installation.

Link doesn't work....

Did you order another spring yet? I don't recommend it as a permanent fix, but you can rebrand the spring and put it back in. It won't last forever, but it will work long enough for you to get a new one. Again: temp fix only.

All three legs of the spring are bent equally, too far to bend straight, and expect adequate spring function. Thanks, Steve

Charlie, does the hub have 6 "pins" cast into it or is it smooth?

Single spring or double spring?

Jeff

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
