In April I had a procedure where they do the pain shots in the areas of the lumbar followed by PT, It did relive a little of the pain but the down side was, I lost function in my legs and have to use a walker to move around.
I recently had an appointment with a surgeon and he recommended since the shots and PT hadn't worked that I have surgery to fix the problem.
So i'm scheduled to under the knife in a couple of weeks. After that it will be 4 to 6 weeks of recovery before I can maybe get back to my cubs and things I love to do.

Wish me luck guys.
We wish you all the luck in the world! You will be in my prayers! Hope to get you back wrenching on cubs soon!!

Been a long recovery from the surgery I had but i'm much better and have been able to get back on the 100. I still have to take easy. But sitting around was about to drive me crazy. Been able to work on the engine the last week, pics to prove it.

Engine cleaned, valves lapped, head surfaced, and ready to be primed.

Hey Larry, glad to see you back at it again. Hope everything went well with your back surgery and you are mending well. The engine looks good and should serve you well for many more years. Take it easy and do not over do it and before long you should be back to normal.

Thanks Fred, everything went well but at my age the recovery is a little longer than a young buck. Still slow getting around but at least I'm able to get in the shop. I'll post some pics of what I have accomplished this week. Got a lot of parts cleaned and primed.

I hear you brother, I'm in the same boat, but I still have 52 staples in me!

You're making really fast progress....

Thought I would share something . While I was recovering I had plenty of time to explore electrolysis either by reading articles or you tube. When I was able to get around some but still unable to stand very long, and not able to use my sand blaster. I decided to build and electrolysis tank and give it a try. I used a 34 gal plastic garbage can, and some metal flat bar. MAN! these things work, so I built another one using a 26 gal plastic storage tote using some old wore out lawn mower blades. So far I have cleaned every thing except the frame, fenders and hood.

On a side note if the part is left in long enough it will also remove the paint.DSCN0630.jpg

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
