Roland is correct on the part number, the complete cup and screen are 235189 or 41 071 05-s.
Maybe put an ad in the wanted section if you still need one, go here.

I finally found the correct one. The part # is IH385297-r2. It has the exact measurements as the one I need. NOS was $50 but I got a used one for $25. I never realized that tracking down parts for these old machines would be so tricky. This $25 part cost me $105 after making a couple hasty decisions. Lesson learned. I hope. Thanks to all that chimed in on this subject. This is truly a great forum. I'm glad I found it. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/i...s/beerchug.gif

Cub Cadet's website states....."Cub Cadet Part IH-385297-R2 Use KH-235190 Screen", which is what I previously posted.

You have been given the information. You can handle it from here.

I think what makes it tricky sometimes is when suppliers mis-identify the parts for these older machines. Some of these parts have been around for a long time, so they may not always get labeled correctly. Especially when the box/tags are missing from them. Glad you found the correct one!

Tim doesn't really care. For all the more it's worth and the amount of time it would take to get off the engine it's really not worth it.

I wish I understood that too. Deal with it all the time.

On that note, I know for a fact that part stores like O'Reilly's change part number to keep from having to warranty parts. If the part numbers change and you don't have a receipt, they don't have to warranty it. After all, your account shows you never purchased that part number.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
