Unofficial word was that we set a new attendance record for RPRU at 42,000+

I did not get out and about much as I was tied up at the inside Cub display area in the 4H Bldg every day.

I do think these to FFA lads approved of my 104!!

I was there 3 days. It was a great show with a lot of red paint! Just about anything IH ever built was there along with many custom built tractors.
Probably the most unusual was a 70s era tractor with a V12 GMC truck engine. It was stretched out to fit the engine in the frame. Very well done and looked factory. Wish I'd taken a picture.
Sam, you would be disappointed. There not a single Cyclops tractor at the show.

Seems like a good trade off. I can put five Cubs where one car sat and there are no titles or license to fool with!

Don,
Did you get a pic of the Sunstrand test cub? I grabbed the paper describing it
but didn't take a pic. Was my favorite thing there.

I didn't take a pic of that. but I did get to talk with one of the Sundstrand engineers that was very instrumental in that tractor. We had a very long talk.

Dave,
You were just hanging out in the AC. The cubs looked great. Missed seeing ya there. I did look for you. My Son and I were there Friday. BTW, how'd the vote turn out for the 147? Restore or leave original? I vote for original.

Overall great show. Hot day, but the Air Conditioned buildings were nice. Lots to see and do, even though they had it spread out enough.......

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
