$4,699.00? For the tractor only?
Then you buy a deck, at what price?
WAY too much money...

FYI:

1971 Cub Cadet 129 list for $1,450.

Converting 1971 dollars to 2018 dollars, that Cub Cadet 129 would list for $8,981.40.

Kubota BX1880 with 54" deck list for $11,715. Now that is diesel and 4WD.

Never sat on one. I have been interested in their performance. There are members here who have them and others with the 2100 series. Most speak highly of them. $300 off is better than nothing. If you purchase one, we would like reports back on it's performance and any issues once in a while.

I actually already have the GTX2100, which is essentially the same tractor. Some improvements with the XT3, but mostly the same.

It is interesting that Cub Cadet considers the tractor the Series 3000. I was tracking down the manual on their website. I put in the serial number and that is how it was categorized. On other posts I have read others with the Series 3000 have noted similarities.

I was on Cub Cadets website and noticed the price reduction, so I thought I would pass it on.

I'm not sure I buy that whole inflation calculator stuff. If those numbers are true, they just made a lot more money than we do now (on aversge).

Comparing an XT3 to a Kubota is ridiculous. Not even in the same ballpark.

The amount of people on this site interested in those new machines are so few, that it isn't worth the time to advertise. Heck, most of us would rather argue about what piles of junk the new stuff is, than anything.

I like how the description says "automotive style" a for several things. For giggles I added one to the cart and found the 60" deck and added that, and the price was automotive style too, $6300... I'll stick with the $200 craigslist finds...

You know in 40 years, I bet you still see the same Cubs we all have at plow days, and not one of these XT3's will be there.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
