Oil fill tube on a K241
A question, Is the oil fill tube removable on the k241AS. If so, is it threaded or pressed in.

Yes it can be removed. Yes, it is pressed in.
It might be destroyed during removal.... but it is removable. |

Be careful when driving it out. Try to use something the same size as the tube. Sockets sometimes work as size specific "drivers".
Why are you removing it?? |

I had a fill tube on a motor that was bent back into the engine tin and could not get the tin off.

That's the problem I have. The oil fill was so close to the engine I bent the tin pretty bad taking it off. As i'm doing a restore on this tractor, I found and ordered a used tin on E-bay. But I don't want to try and put a fresh painted tin on it for fear of ruining it also. I thought about using a BFH or a pry bar to try and make gap larger but i'm reluctant for fear of breaking it.

Well.... if you break it, you're no worse off.
They bend hard, but it's not a hardened part. See if you can straighten it before trying to take it out. |

Are you taking the engine apart? If so you could cut a slit in it about an inch up and then bent the tube out to your liking and then weld it, once ground down and with paint on it nobody would ever know.

Just heat it with the torch and gently bend it where it needs to be.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
