Amerind MacKissic chipper
Got a Lew deal on this off of "Letgo" for $10. Looks like it's all there and in pretty good shape too. I think something is missing to put tension on the belt. Does anyone have any info on it? It is supposed to fit a narrow frame tractor so I may put it on a 71 or 100.

It's not a chipper, it's a hammermill.
----Good for making chicken feed from shelled corn. You can put twigs/leaves in it, but not anything larger than your fingers. It does a good job on dry leaves, about as good as gator blades on a deck. |

Same setup as M59 IH chipper you are missing the bar with 2 legs that goes into the tubes with a spring inside to push up.Look at the older style M59 parts diagram

Lance has one that style, maybe he will chime in and possibly post a pic of the parts you're missing.

After I posted that I thought to myself "it's pretty bad that we all know what each other owns"

As for the setup, it looks to be configured wrong. The shaft/bearings should be mounted on the other side of the plate. The bearings should also have springs on them. At least the 59M has them. Mine is kinda buried right now, but I can pull it out and get some pics if you need them. I also have some digital manuals for the 59M and a paper copy of the Amerind MacKissic manual. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
