Thanks guys!
Also check the wire coming out of the point cover, sometimes they fray because of mis routing and/or a missing little grommet.
Then the vibration of increased RPM shorts them out.

Okay everyone, new carb, new points, new condenser, replaced the wire from the points to the coil and still the same problem.
Coil bad? or should I do a compression check.

When you increase the throttle, does it improve any if you apply some choke at the same time? What I mean is from idle, apply a little choke, apply a little throttle, apply a little choke, apply a little throttle, etc. What happens?

No improvement, it just wants to die (and usually does unless I take it back to idle quick). Choke doesn't help.
I did remove the dipstick when it's idling and noticed that there seems to be some blow bye possibly, is this normal on Kohlers? The reason I ask is there seems to be a "rubber stopper-ish" in the tube.
It's not blowing the dipstick out or anything.

It's normal to bathe yer self in oil, if removing it while engine is running
It is not recommended unless you are a really wanting to squeeze through a tight opening like a coal or milk chute.
opps guess my age is showing, they don't have those things anymore.

Still same issues.
New carb, fuel line, filter, points, condenser, coil (Kohler), points plunger, pet cock and checked for debris, new wire for coil to points, and spark plug wire.
Things I didn't do yet, anyone can chime in to see if this would help.
Compression test?

Thanks

What's up with this...... I have a 1450 and there is no clear filter on it.

If you cleaned the in tank screen you should not need any additional filtering. This extra filter may be causing a restriction to flow.

And what was wrong with the old carb? Is the new one an OEM carb or a china clone?

Replaced the carb because adjusting wasn't working.
New carb is do the same as the old one. The new petcock has
a screen on it.
I also put a new plug in it and adjusted the governor to factory specs.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
