Default 16hp K series

Hi guys, picked up a non running 16 hp out of a 1650 yesterday. Started tearing in to it today and found a bent exhaust valve, any recommendations on good replacement valves? Also the carb is in very poor shape and I don't think I'll be able to save it, are there any decent replacements that don't cost a arm and a leg? Thanks in advance !

OP:

Only way I can see that the screw could have bent the valve is if it got caught between the head of the valve and cylinder head when the valve opened. What kind of shape is the head in?

I think you need more than just a valve. Seriously......

Buy the valve from this guy on ebay:

There are lots of cheap carbs on ebay. Several members here have been buying them with good results. I have not bought any of them yet. I have lots of motors, and I just rebuild the carbs I have.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
