Default Picked up a 450!

Been looking for a Blower on and off since I picked up my 1812 about a year ago. I stumbled on a QA-42a, it was cheap enough so I picked it up. Shredded a few belts and set it aside and put the snow blade back on. Was planning on getting it setup correctly over the summer, but this popped up for sale. Came off a super cyclops. But it’s missing the extensions for use on a super. Will have to pick up the piece that bolts to the rock shaft to attach the lift rod but that’s it. Even has the smaller pulley!

There is only one pulley available for a 450. If it has a "small" one, it's been modified.

Didn’t some of the later ones have a larger pulley to fit the cyclops?

I hear you on that one! I recently got a 450 snowblower and Ive been super excited when it snows. I blow everything I can, even the neighbor's. It gives the 1772 a nice work out.

Same here! I plow myself, a few neighbors and the entire blocks sidewalk. As of late it’s been a contest to see who gets there first. A neighbor picked up a kubota utv with a power angle blade and cab for a good deal earlier. It’s semi ridiculous we have a contest to see who plows first!

No. The model 451 fit the cyclops with the larger PTO. The pulleys on both the 450 and 451 are identical. Gearbox ratio is different.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
