Default Today's Blessing - Acquisition

I know not everything in the picture is for a Cadet, but I feel blessed at this point. I have acquired all that is shown. They all were purchased new in 1979, are all one owner items, and none have never sat/been stored outdoors. I even got the original manuals for everything as well.

The Brinly plow was said to have been used only a couple times when it was new. It is all original including the serial tag sticker on the side which reads "B-78-34756."

The 75 lbs wheel weights, tire chains, and front blade were also purchased at the same time as the tractor (Murray).

The problem is I have never moldboard plowed a day in my life with a lawn tractor but have with a big tractor. But I need a wide frame plow/blade.

Thank you for allowing me to post.

LOL... I am running 75# Wheel Horse wheel weights (painted IH red) on my 784. They work just fine. I paid less for a pair of these than a pair (26#) IH wheel weights.

Congrats on the attachments!
Until this spring, I had never plowed with a garden tractor either, but had plowed many acres with a 6 bottom semi-mounted. Let me say, it IS different. Mainly because you lose traction so easy with the GT. Setting the plow is a little different too being a fully mounted. There's a learning curve, but you should figure it out. Unless you only drove a plow, and never set it. Then there will be a BIG learning curve.

I have never run a moldboard plow on a garden tractor, either, but did run one of the IH 4-bottom "flip over" plows behind a 1066. Don't remember the model of the plow, but it keep the "water furrow" going the same way....at the end of the field, turn tractor, flip plow and go.

Flip plows are weird.... You don't see them in this area of the country. The left over furrow is called a "dead furrow".

Think you "Done good son". I just plowed for the first time in my life the other day. Honey wants to plant a little garden so the 121 and plow had at it. Found plenty of good sized rocks. I should open a quarry. Then hit it with the tiller on the 149. Found more rocks but didn't blow anything up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
