Default Scored Today!

My wife called me this morning after I'd left for work. Said our neighbor had a sweeper sitting in his front yard with a FREE sign on it. I have a sweeper, but can't beat free, so I told her to go get it. (As if, lol). I was going to run and grab it on lunch break. Well, my truck was blocked in where we were working, so I figured, oh well. If it's there when I go home, I'll grab it. The house it was at is only about 1/2 mile away, but the opposite direction from my way home. I came home and forgot to drive by. After I'd been home an hour, my wife asked if I had gone and looked at that free sweeper. Crap! I forgot! So I jumped in the truck and ran down there. Holy cow I was shocked! I figured it was an Agri-Fab, as they are so common in my area. Nope. Cub Cadet. I was super excited. Loaded it up and came home. It's a little rough, but I think I can clean it up.

Pics, because it happened.

Why can't it just be a walnut tree? Why's it gotta be black?

When the fruit falls and hits your head it makes you black out, that is why it is called what it is called.

Thanks guys!

Lew, yes I do have a black walnut tree. I also have a couple pecan trees, but they must be male, as I never see many, if any pecans. I wish I could figure out this one tree though..... don't know what it is.

Lew, do you know anything about this sweeper? I can't find any parts pics on Cub Cadet. Lance figured out it is the same as a Parker TE-7736, and I can find part pics for that. Says the Cub Cadet model number is 193-366-100, but nothing comes up. I assume it's an early MTD deal, because the SN has a "U" in it like IH. If they did the SN's the same as everything else, it's early. Last 3 are 901.

Oh.... it had the owners manual zip tied to the frame tube for the bag..... not much left of it though... I found one on ebay for $3.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
