you do a search on any user here, you will probably be able to find out their marital status, whether they have children or not, religious beliefs, political views, race/ethnicity ,GPS data embedded in pictures, sometimes travel habits, and so on and so on.
Hell, I have access to your profile and know NONE of that.

For all you Mac OS users, the default image viewer built into the OS "Preview" has image resize capabilities, no third party applications needed.

I don't think McDonalds is gonna do a search on me when I finally get my foot in the door there. JK. I understand your concerns, I have them about on line ordering products or any card number exchanges. If they don't accept a check or money order I'm out.

Couple things.

First off, I agree with the above posters; I like POTW, but the pics are too darn small! For the day and age we live in where there are so many free image hosting sites, can't we bump the res up a little bit? I use http://postimage.org/ and it is 100% free for a basic account. When you upload, it will automatically resize your pics to whatever resolution you want, doesn't seem to have an upload limit (I've got near 200 pics on mine and still growing), and image linking is so easy. The size limit on this site is THE reason I don't host or upload pics to this site to show, I upload them at postimage.org and link them, works great and it's free.

(PS to image hosting: If this site wanted to go 3rd party for image hosting, go to imageshack.com and get a paid account. For $3.99 / month (or 37.99 / year), you get UNLIMITED space and direct linking. Hell, I'd donate $4 a month to pay for the account if it meant we had better pics for POTW)

Second, resizing pictures literally takes about 5 seconds to do on your computer. I posted a short guide here not all that long ago on how to do it, and got zero responses. It's free, takes 5 minutes to set up, then in the future, it takes mere seconds to resize a pic.

My point to those two subjects: there is no reason for anyone to gripe about having to resize or host/post pics. (not trying to be rude, just saying)

Lastly, do we really NEED the users full name to be considered? THAT specific part of it should be volunteer only; if you want your name, more power to you. If not, that's alright, too.

Ok, rant over

Oh, Yea, if it is OCC Picture Of The Week, I do not want to see a bunch of junk setting around, such as a 2002 Jeep in the driveway, 22 boxes in the garage, an un-sorted toolbox that hasn't been closed in 7 years,,, Take a pic of the tractor, oh, yea, crop the pic!!

We need a closeup!! Try to be a little "artsy",,,,,

A little fresh paint never killed anyone,,,,

Bend down to the tractors level, I am tired of pics of the top of the hood of tractors.

Turn the flash on, especially outside, virtually 100% of my pics are flash pics,,
If you get a horrible reflection, move, and retake the pic.

At least wash it!!

I think these are all good suggestions cad, but if your gonna take a pic of a tractor, shouldn't the grass in the background be clean cut? Ha Just pickin. You do have some super pics, pun intended.

You mean like a bunch of rusty old iron wheels, tractor seats and wheelbarrows?

I think we're getting a little picky now. Larger pics is one thing, but now were talking about setting a scene, a certain backdrop for the pics. Some of my favorite pics are, as others say, working pics! Such as my ol' 1050 pulling a rusty, busted up, sunken trailer out of the ground/weeds. It ain't pretty, but seeing the machine work and what it can do sure is.

Also, that same 1050 was a POTW earlier this year. She is by no means a trailer queen; just a little rusty, a dent or two, puff of smoke, hard working, somewhat rare Cub. Trailer queens are GREAT, don't get me wrong, but workers in the field, in the dirty garage, wherever, are great, as well. It's about the tractor, not the background

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
