NF hydro lift cylinder rebuild ?
Hey guys I am having a problem with my cylinder sinking pretty fast while in neutral position but my reservoir always seems to be full. Not sure the problem but am thinking I am going to rebuild the cylinder anyway. Are there special seals I will need to get or are they just ordinary O-rings that would be in an assortment pack? Would like to have all parts on hand before I start the project. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated!! Thanks in advanced!

Need more info, what tractor are you working on ? They made a lot of different size cylinders over the years. Pics would also help. Problem could also be the valve leaking inside.

The Nf units are simple, should be four O rings, 3 # 29 and 1 of # 25. The parts list gives the size of them here.

Any decent hydraulic repair shop should have those seals.
Just take your cylinder apart and take it to them. That way you will be assured of getting parts suitable for hydraulic service. Parts for mine were about $5 and that included tax! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
