I've used my construction compressors several times for painting. If you're just painting a cub or parts it'll keep up. It will most likely run alot but, it will do the job. Most all the twin tank compressors are capable of running two framing guns at the same time and that's quite a bit of air.

if this was about painting a nice car/truck. and you want to put a nice paint job on your ride. you need to ignore most all the how to's listed above.

water seperator, it must be 20' or more away from the compressor.

paint guns. any gun will be fine. you will get use to it. I own both. a 75.00 HF gun and a 280.00 IR gun. the two guns are not even in the same ball park on how well they work.
Good advice here. But I went with the CHEAP Harbor freight cause I don't EVER plan on using it again. Cub re-paint only.

I really appreciate all the input. Sounds like I can make this work which is good since a large compressor is not possible at this time. So now I need to get a gun and figure out what to do about paint. The $250+ for paint, primer and incidentals I was quoted is a bit steep for the budget. The Case/IH Iron Guard is more in line with the budget. Problem is that the nearest dealer is 45 miles away. There's a new TSC nearby that has Majik? brand paint. They had Cub yellow (new or old shade?) and no IH 935 white. The wife thinks I should forego painting and just mount up the purty new ags on the rusty old wheels but it seems to me the time to paint while tires are off. Then while I'm doing that seems to be the right time to paint that rusty hood and grill, then the frame and fender pan will look kinda shabby compared to the other freshly painted parts, right? Project creep!

Yeah, that's what happens. Once you paint one part the rest of it looks shabby. I wish they made old looking new paint.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
