The manual doesn't say much about the clutch setup and since it's spring loaded I doubt there is any adjustment.

Thumbs up

Thank you for the help. Your son's 111 looks like new! I noticed it was tuff to go through two large pulleys to get the short belt on the top two pulleys. I did not notice any adjustment either. I hope this 30" Stens works. Gonna be at it first thing in the morning. If not, then I'll go with a longer belt.

Question

So my cadet 111 has a 36" mower deck. Can anyone tell me what the correct size and length the mower deck drive belt would be?

I've tried every belt rout configuration, which there are only two. Either inside or outside the "clutch" pulley. Routed inside this pulley seems to make most sense. However, with the engagement lever either in the forward or back positon, the belt is being pulled/drawn too tightly towards the center of the mower deck. I can grab a blade and turn it, and along turns the engine flywheel. I'm not going to start the tractor like that!

So now I'm in search of the correct mower belt.

BTW: The Stens True Blue 30" transmission drive belt is the correct length and size. I can get that part number shortly. Also, there are more pictures in my album of my Cadet 111!

Thanks, John

Exclamation

Had the mower deck "clutch" pulley in the incorrect position. Surfing around the 'ol net, I found some pictures of the correct position of the pulley. I then mowed around a while, and the Cadet 111 does a fine job, and I was some what surprised at how level of a cut the mower deck made!!

For now, I'm done with it. But I'm going to have to do some work to the steering soon. The Cadet is now my "go-to" tractor!

Thumbs up Cadet 111 moves on,.....

Well, today the Cadet 111 becomes the first IH Cub Cadet lawn tractor I ever sold! With the cash from that, and the recent work I had done to a really nice, and rare Ford 100 garden tractor, ..........

The Cadet went to my brother, so its in good hands, lol

Oh, I'm sticking with the Cub Cadet line up. However, there are many good/awesome garden tractors of the vintage age. My brother's Ford 100 is a bout a '69 or '70. Pretty nice as mentioned, and factory with an electric PTO! He has two decks and a snow blade for it. But, in comparison to the engineering of the Original, say... through to the model 127 series, the Ford just can't quite compete, rather too many belts and pulleys, and weird bracketry. Still, a good garden tractor the Ford 100 is!

He's going to run the Cadet 111 to save on the k241 in the Ford 100 as one can see the piston rings and is due for a rebuild before "it" happens, lol!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
