Default Carts, carts, carts?

Ok first, if this isn't in the right spot move it please! Anyone have approx dimensions and specs for the IH carts? I know IH didn't make them but I'd like to take a stab at one. Can't really find anything for sale around my parts and I have some steel around and if I don't used stuff is pretty cheap. I'm thinking of a #3 or 4 size, in particular. Thanks

If I were you I would place an ad in the wanted section and on c list, etc. You live in the Mecca of cub land. PA and NY, NJ are loaded. Look harder, you'll find one. Maybe not a #4 but should be able to find #2's all day long. It's quite a bit of labor to make one from scratch, I think you'd be happier with an IH one or agrifab, etc. just my .02

It is some (a lot) work to make one. Especially a copy of one trying to stay true to size. I'll put it on the back burner for now but I'm always looking for something to do! I'll keep my eyes out on CL too. Thanks for the input guys!

yettrbomb:
Start searching Craigslist for Cub Cadet and Garden Tractors. Look in the Altoona area, Cumberland Valley. There were and are a lot of CC dealerships in that area.
I don't even live in PA, but discovered that through my travels of my next FAVORITE state.
Here in Ohio

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
