I don't want to get to that point of cursing out my decal, but I will if I keep going.
My 1st decal (center tunnel-instruction decal for # 109) took a bunch of time & effort to align just right & start pressing into position. I flatened out with a credit card, pricked the bubbles with a pin & came out decent. Now for the biggie? My 2.5 long hood Cub Cadet decal. I am looking forward to #@$*$# 1/2 way. These decals are sooooooooooo sticky that once they are down THATS IT. Now for my senior moment. I seemed to remember that some-one here mentioned that if one sprizt's some water on the spot there is room for error & can be moved? Also adding a drop or two of liquid detergent???????: Don't remember Also is there a guide to follow in re; to placement for the hood decal like; 1 " from the bottom, 1" from the side??????? I had a shop next to a guy that put the Coke decal on the side of a 53' tractor trailer.
He sprayed the surface with water first, then put the decal on. No more cussing, I have tried it, I haven't cussed at decals since!! Now the bolts holding the fenders on the 108................................... |

Get you a spray bottle at the dollar store. Fill with water and a couple drops of dish soap. Spray the surface really good and apply the decal. You will be able to move it around and get it where you want, then start squeegeeing with your credit card or a small window tint squeegee to remove the water and air bubbles. Will take a good week or so to be secure, about the same for window tint. Use a heat gun or hair dryer too to help dry them out.

Oh, U guys saved my sanity. Got my trusty spray bottle that I use for flare ups on the ole grill,
Nik Any tips or clues as to the placement of the hood decal? 1" from the bottom of the hood? 1/2"? From the edge up front? Is there any specific measurement I should follow or just wing it? |

My understanding is that they were just eyeballed on the assembly line. Not sure there were any specific measurements used. I would start the decal on the fiberglass cover, keeping the angle of the decal and the cover the same and then work forward to the front of the hood. I would say keep the decal 3/8" to 1/2" or so above the lower flair of the hood.

They are hard to put on. I did not use water i just eyeballed and put them on. Are you using decals for Maplehunter?

Nik,
I tried some water on one of the small decals, maybe I did not use any soap??? So I end up putting on the 147 decals dry. Made some light pencil marks where they were supposed to go. (I cheated a little I went out and measured the 127 which has the original decals). I can measure the location if that would help? Regards, Chris
