My oldest son
Guys, I know I've been in basically "super lurk mode" for quite a while due to work and such, but I usually check in on the posts daily. I got a prayer request for you all to remember...
I'd like for you all to remember my oldest son (Owen). He was diagnosed on Dec 23 with a germ cell tumor on his pituitary gland (brain cancer). We have been going to Wake Forest Baptist hospital and he starts chemo this Friday (1/15). The doctors have said that he has a really good chance of a complete recovery but he will have to take 6 rounds of chemo and 5 weeks of radiation afterwards... We will be making a 2 hour trip down I-77 quite a bit (already have been) in the upcoming months... I have had a great peace about the whole situation. I'm not worried about his healing but I do really hate that he's having to go through all of this. He's only 10 years old. Last week he had surgeries to put in a portacath, do a testicular biopsy and a spinal tap. He's been taking all of this like a real champ.
