Well..... I want to say this is 100% pure guess.... but it's logical.

I checked the part numbers, and intake and exhaust carry different part numbers (duh, I know). But, the intake one is cheaper than the exhaust. So, I did a google search for the part number and they are for sale on amazon. It listed the weight. The intake push-rod weighs .6 oz, and the exhaust weighs .5 oz. The exhaust is the cheaper of the two and it's the lighter one. My guess is the exhaust uses the aluminum one.

.005" for the lash, both valves. If you need a service manual, I have a PDF I can email you. Just PM me with your e-mail and I'll send it.

This is from the Vanguard service manual that J-Mech sent me last year.

Install Push Rods
NOTE: All models except 540000, 610000 –
Exhaust valve push rods are aluminum.
Models 540000, 610000 – All push rods are
aluminum.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
