I'd be checking the engine and radiator mounts. Looks like the radiator is too high, or the rear of the engine is too low, causing the radiator to raise. Use your eyes, take the side panels off and look it over. Do some measuring if you need to. You will likely find the issue.

Thanks Jonathan, I never thought of the engine height as part of the problem, but in fact, the engine cradle also mounts/holds the radiator. I'll scope things out as soon as I get a free day.

The radiator on a 1772 is thicker than all the D600 radiators causing the spring to do that.
If you look close at the side panel spring holes you can see the difference on how the spring rides. Of course I have mine jury rigged with a piece of wire. 1572 Radiator 1572 Radiator.jpg 1772 Radiator 1772 Radiator.jpg

So, did the 1772 not use a spring to hold the side panels in?

Frank, my 1772 is the same way, and I also wondered how the original spring is supposed to be installed. For now I have two smaller springs with a wire in between, and do not have the issue of the side panels alignment.

As far as I know, all the 82 series used the spring. Partstree shows it too.

CNH-320 - Thanks for the info. I was also thinking of checking the springs out at McMaster and getting 2 springs also, one for each side and running them from the center brace to each panel. I wanted to know in the forum if something wasn't quite right with my 1772 and causing the springs to be routed the way you see them in the pictures I uploaded.
