Default Hello from N. Alabama

Cub Cadet 2145 owner here, glad I found a source of older CC info. Just finished replacing the "Drive Barrels (759-3764)" between the motor/driveshaft and the driveshaft/pump.
Bought the mower new, things I have repaired/replaced over the years;
New coil
front tires
very few belts
mowing deck idler
tie rod ends with heim joints
4-5 sets of blades
changed the drive oil and filter once
voltage regulator
ignition switch
replaced the PTO switch with a simple SPST toggle.

Seems like a lot of things but taking into account the age of this mower, I think it has been a very good implement.

Welcome to OCC.........

Belts and blades are considered "maintenance items" rather than repair items.

Enjoy your time on OCC.

Yes, still there exit 308. One of my favorites there is the "Tool Shed".

Instead of turning west to go to the Tool Shed, turn east and drive a mile into Cullman and eat at Johnny's BBQ. Much better than Big Bob Gibsons (IMO).

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
