That's the beauty of working with metal, you can always re-bend, cut and weld to it. We'll see what happens when I get the deck back on.

Works for me as long as you don't post in a couple months complaining about why doesn't my deck cut well, or why do I have uncut ridges?

Honestly it will probably work but you'll be the first to know. Hope you report back with your results.

If this happens I'll most likely order the $80+shipping OEM part. Its worth a shot being that the homemade part only cost me a little bit of metal and some fab-time.. Time will tell all

On my deck there is only a little black spray paint where I had to patch up some cracked metal.. if your referring to the pic Oak posted, its not mine

That is EZ-Slide graphite paint from TSC. I need to pull the deck and redo it again.

The verdict is in! Be prepared to eat your words... no uncut ridges, no gaps and no funny buisiness. This was in the field across the st from me which hadn't been mowed single last year. Works good enough for me! Plus I saved $100+ by making my own baffle.

I think I'll try to sell the idea to Cub now.. their oem part seems to be over engineered

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
