I could see how that may work if I could get the key all the way out, else something will shear (or just not move). Might be getting bolts to work with my puller today, so I'll see how that works out first.

And IIRC, the number on my belt is 55053-C1. I'll double check and make sure.

Yes 55053-C1 should be the correct belt

What I mean is even with the key in you may be able to wiggle the pulley enough to possibly work it some what loose you never know

Possible, but I've done all manner of things I'd normally never dool to a pulley so far without any give or wiggle. Got bolts for the lupper to work with it today so I should be making progress soon. Also found a set of tire chains in a family members barn today (no longer has anything to use them on).

The bolts I got for my puller worked out great! Got the pulley off, turned around and lined up today. Mounted the blower, but the belt is way short so I will indeed have to pick up a new one. Also put the tire chains on and they are for smaller tires, but with a little ingenuity and left over parts from our fencing project last year, they are on with no fender slap. They are definitely rigged, but they work. Drove it to the end of the driveway and back just to be sure. I'll pick up the correct belt when I'm in town next.

Uploaded 3 of these pics on my last post, but it didn't post them, must've hit the wrong submit button.

Kinda hard to see the pulleys unless you look close.

Small update. Tried the blower out for the first time today and everything spins.

Now my problem is that it won't throw very far. Plugged it up right off the bat being cautious with it, but got that sorted out and it didn't plug again. But it still only tosses snow. Most of it just drops on the top of the chute. I only got about 3-4" if that in the blower since I have gravel (#4 limestone) and actually picked up and tossed some of it.

I've been searching for the articles that I was seeing about these not throwing very far (when I was looking for info on the blower itself), but I can't seem to find them anymore?

First make sure that the belt is not slipping, use the adjuster on your blower to tighten it up if needed. Engine must be at full throttle to throw snow properly. A wet heavy snow will not go as far. I used mine yesterday and the snow was wet but it threw it about 8 to 10 feet. Point chute straight up this will also help snow travel out of the unit. You should be able to throw a dry snow about 20 to 25 feet in the air with no issue. Check out some utube video to see what your blower should be doing. Just search by cub cadet snow thrower, there are plenty of them out there. Good luck looks good

Maybe your engine doesn't run 3600 RPM....

Or the belt is slipping, or it has the wrong pulley on it. Could even have the wrong gear box on it.

Should throw it out there pretty good.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
