SCORE! 54" Dozer Blade
Hey all, finally caught a good deal in my back yard. Nightow1 and I drove a whopping half hr to pick up a really nice, all original, complete 54" blade for the average price of a 42". It was more complete than i had planned because the lift cam was included also. Guy had a really nice set of 2 link tire chains that he threw in for an extra 20.00
Its hard enough to find any Cub stuff remotely close, let alone a 54" blade at the price i paid. Guy has an 1864 (which this blade came off of) thats complete & running minus a front wheel and damaged plastic that hes wanting to sell (parts machine)... plus has ANOTHER 1864 in good condition he uses to mow with, that he would also consider selling too. EEEK Im excited! Oh, btw, it will have a hydraulic angle cylinder before long

Cool! Those are nice blades. Makes blading your driveway lots easier than with a 42". Only thing is you need some weight behind it! I have one stored with one hyd bracket on it and no lift bracket. I used it one year on my 1200 and it like to killed my arm, definitely want hyd lift! I may break it back out next year and mount it on the 1211. Needs to balast the tires and wheel weights first.

Great find! I've been looking for awhile now those aren't as easy to find out by us. I'm sure if we drive out to PA we would probably trip over them.

Actually not, its still hard to find a 54" around here but you can buy the smaller plows by the dozen. I had a 54" a few years ago but went back to the smaller plow because even with a spring assist the 54" was very heavy and my gravel driveway is uneven and the wider blade didn't do a nice job.

I really wish I had one of those!!! I lost a trade for a rear IH blade in my area because the guy wanted a 54" blade and not a 42" blade for his 12 hp 125. It would have been a really sweet bargaining token, but that is my loss. I am glad you scored that and had fun "Cub Scouting" with a fellow cubber!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
