Snow thrower Chute rotator
We got forcast for 4-8" of snow last night. I checked the tractor and snow thrower over and when to Lowe's for a 48" rod to make a handle for the rotator. Once installed, the chute didn't rotate. It had the shorter length gear on it. I got the gear off the QA-42, it's longer, and it rotates slighty. I can rotate the chute by turning the u-joint without the handle. Looks like the gear is cockeyed, but I don't see a way to adjust it. other than a BFH. What am I missing here?

It does look like the bracket is bent a little, ya might try bending it back with a big pair of pliers or a crescent wrench.

Now take the rotator off the bracket and either hit or bend the mounting bracket with a wrench as mentioned.
otherwise you will break the rotator, if left on while bending. They are thin die casting. Be careful, you've been warned. |

Exactly right, take the chute adjuster off first!

Will do! If it breaks, is it a Duct Tape fix?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
