Sorry, but I have to ask. What model of deck are you attempting to install on a 782...???

These are listed for the 1862 so they should fit a 782. You may need to fiddle with adjustments and you may also need to replace the PTO for the larger size PTO used on the Cyclops series.

i currently run a 50c so im hoping to use a newer mower deck from cub cadet that you can still get. im preparing for my current deck (shell) to eventually rust out and i want to continue using the 782 but i have to find a deck that will work with it. a deck that will mate up with the carriage. the mower off the cyclops might be worth looking into. i fiqured someone had done this before since a solid 50c is hard to find.

same deck on the cyclops and 782. in other words it will be hard finding a deck for the cyclops also in good shape.

I don't see any reason the later Cyclops 48" and 54" decks won't fit either as long as you have the lifting mechanism for them. You'd have to use the large PTO pulley on the engine to use them.
The 46" decks were used on both the 82 and Cyclops series and had either the small or large drive pulley, depending on the tractor it was used on. |

I was given a 2012 50 inch deck last year and thought about mounting it under my 1811. After measuring everything the newer deck was taller than the 50c deck under the 1862 which would limit how high it would lift. I would also have to weld the lift plate and eyes from an older deck to the front of the new deck. If i remember the back lift points were going to have to be moved in to match the lift frame on the 1811. All in all was going to be easier to refurb an older deck. To top it off the pulley system on the newer 50 inch decks are junk.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
