He’s talking about a Quietline, the driveshafts in them are a little different than your 129.

Sam...thanks! Worth considering. Ozcubowner, on the other thread dealing with fan replacement, suggested cutting a fan in half and using hose clamps, and now here one is! I'd be curious to find out more about it. Existing fan probably easily removed by just knocking it apart with a small chisel or screwdriver.

I'm not a FB member so even having found his site, I wasn't able to contact him that way; however, did a search on his name and found a phone # so I left a message for him to get back to me. I'd like to see more detailed pictures of this split fan. I wonder how good it holds up? It'd be interesting to speak to someone who has been using one of these for a decent length of time. Surely would be a bummer to have the thing eventually fly apart at higher rpm and wind up damaging something.

I never liked the idea of hose clamps at 3,600 Rpm on a plastic fan. I would think about balance. Even a few grams off at that speed will be pounds slinging around and I want to keep the charge pump and all things connected to minimum wear as much as possible. There's already enough flex with factory couplers.

I'm wondering about this as well. I've been in contact with Rich about this split fan he developed. Looks to be two nuts / bolts and a clamp. Have to wonder how this thing holds up in general. Never thought about the balance issues you mention. Wonder if before putting this on if I'm better off just, at least for now, using mine that has 2 broken blades? I'm also a bit concerned about the integrity of the fan itself since part of it had to be chopped away (besides being cut in half).

If he’s gone through the trouble of manufacturing them, I’d guess they’re balanced. They might even lock in place better than the replacements available. Those certainly are brittle, at least the one I bought

I got more info from Rich. It looks to be well made. Says he's used it now for over a year with no problems, including doing alot of plowing. I think it's worth a shot. One thing I plan to do, however, is check to make sure everything's tight every so often.

A little crazy glue on the cut area will help keep it together when you tighten up the bolts.
