If I could find a Haban blade that isn’t roached too bad I thought about reworking it for a GT. They always seem to go for top dollar, if you can find them.

Looks like the subframe has been extended on this guy's blade..... but it looks like he can flip the lifting bracket on the blade over, then make a rod that runs under the axle. I think it would be a pretty simple adaption.

I don't know if this will help much, but the PO fabbed up some kind of blade to my 2182. The frame hooks on the rear 3pt hitch bolts and to the lift. It's putting all the pressure on the rear 3pt brackets, not sure this is ideal or not. I'd rather it put the force on the frame in front, but I don't use it much.

Roland take a closer look at the Haban sub frame, you found out why this thing is heavy like a ton of brick and is built for "serious" work not just "display". You will figure soon enough how much steel reinforcement you have to deal with but you don't have to completely copycat the Haban of course.

There was a blade kit for the early 982's for the IH 54in.blades,it was angle iron that extended to the rear axle for push strength.

Thanks Sam:
My son bought a 2072 last weekend. It came with a 54" IH Blade but the Sub Frame looks cobbled up. I don't think he is going to travel to Missouri for this one. Looks like Dad (Me) will have to engineer something up before winter.

Just my 2 cents but I would see if you could get the seller to take it to Fastenal. That's a hell of a deal on that blade.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
