Big prybar. Don't take it off the subframe unless you have a reason to, such as changing the frame from narrow to wide.

Actually pretty easy to do with a piece of 2x4 hammered in there. I've also used a large Irwin quick clamp in the spreader configatuon and that works great too.

Weld a couple extension ears or tabs on the upper side of the forks.
You can then engage the rockshaft first, before the Q/A.
Rest the tabs on the rockshaft then pick up the blade and push it into the Q/A
Works for me.

He's not having trouble getting the plow on the tractor..... the plow and it's subframe aren't attached. He trying to install the subframe to the plow.

Besides, the upper part of the plow subframe forks is already longer, and engages the rockshaft first on all the plows. Never had one that didn't unless it was worn out. No welding necessary.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
