Default My first Cub, first issues

I just recently bought a 1572 with a 60" deck. And I must say I have never been happier with the purchase. I've noticed recently that my rear-end is leaking and was curious as to how hard it would be to pull it and replace the seals. Also anything else I should check since I have it apart? Thanks in advanced!

Where is it leaking from? Axle seals, rear cover or frame mounting bolts?

I cleaned everything up and was only able to find just a drop of oil which I believe is coming from this pipe that goes into the front of the rearended. Maybe I'll find more tomorrow after it sits overnight. If this is the leak is there an o-ring in the fitting to be replaced? I don't want to tighten to much and strip the aluminum. Also fixed a water leak and found out this mower has the PTO drive installed(day made) and replaced a tensioner pully on the deck.

In my 125 I had a brass crush fitting in there, but in chasing my leak I found there was a hairline crack in the tube itself. I'd drain the fluid, then pull that tube (it's called the suction tube, I believe). Good luck!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
