Default 1641 pto

Guess I misplaced the PTO, junquéd it, or the boys built a go cart or something.

Been looking for a replacement but not exactly sure what I'm lookin' for. Might one of the PTO's from Stens work? Should I look elsewhere? Part number?

Won't need the PTO till it's time to mow 'd lawn but, deck is on saw horses ready to deal with; clean, rust removal, prime 'n paint. Since this is a 1990 Cub I noted the color code "darker yellow" in the service manual. I'm going to look for paint at TSC before the local Cub dealer.

Anytime I have a part number question I always go to parts tree. Com. A link for you to click on. Just be sure the serial numbers match your model

Thanks Steelers Fan!

partstree.com is where I lookup parts for my other garden tractor. I'm bookmarking the Cub link. Thanks again.

I thank you again Sam. Now, I guess mounting hardware; i.e.: spacers, nuts, whatever; partstree.com?

Not to panic yet, deck needs work, spring ready to mow the lawns.

Just checked partstree they list the hardware sizes. Easy enough at the hardware store.

Post a pic of the front of your engine. Well see what you need. I like Parts Tree for looking up numbers but they tend to be a bit high priced.

Tank

Pretty sure darkminion_17 has a used PTO off a 1440 that will work on your 1641. He lives in Joisey probably not to far from you.

Yes good point on not buying from parts tree, more of a part # resource.

Exactly. However I do like to look up part numbers and hardware. Some garden tractor part lists; i.e.: Toro; have part numbers for bolts, nuts, washers.

Tickled pink that the Cub parts lists hardware; i.e.: 5/16-18 x 3/4" Grd 5, etc, etc.

Now you do have to add up how many but, can't have everything. I'm removing the foot rests and now know, no guessing, what hardware is required. I'll pick up the hardware before tearing down the foot rests. Of course, sandblast, spray paint, new hardware, Never-Seez. Hey, we want to make the poor Cub healthy don't we?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
