Ha been there done that! Ctrl(Cmd)+A, Ctrl(Cmd)+C before submit is stamped into my brain now.

What is everyone doing to their lawn this spring? I have two servings of fertilizer ready to go, one portion of pre-emergent, two portions of broad leef killer and one session of plug aerating.

I will most likely broadcast spread some fast-acting lime to help knock down the violets.

I hit the mother in laws and my yard with fert/pre emerge in early March. Mowed maybe 4 times and sprayed 2-4-D for dandelions, henbit, a purple flower thing not sure of, a couple of onions and two thisle. Also some weed in mine that I don't have a clue what it is, and don't care cause it is dieing. Ready to hit yard again with a second shot of the fert/pre. A shot of lime wouldn't hurt but MIL has some clover, well had before spraying, and that is a sign the lime is not bad. Thinking about it I don't seem to have any... guess lime is in my future. Dang, one more thing to do that doesn't involve a cub, crap.

Give one of these a go, it will take the guess work out of lime applications.

How about a follow up on the experimental winter seeding that was mentioned in the above posts.

Did you guys notice any better success, worse seed germination, no difference either way?

I'm interested in hearing about the results as well. Although I'm less interested in the germination rate and more interested in how the young grass is faring in 90 degree heat, since the main reason to overseed in the fall is to give the grass time to establish before the summer heat(if applicable).

I am already prepared for this fall with a 50# bag of Speedway, top perfomer in the Raleigh(NC1) NTEP tests.

I also plan on mixing in 10% KBG this year for it's spreading capabilities.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
