Peerless Transmission
Doing some work to my SO76 and decided I should change my transmission oil. Could anyone lead me in the right direction on where to fill the case and what type of oil to use. I've done some exploring and believe I need to remove my drawbar assembly to get to the fill hole, am I right?

Looking at the exploded view here http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=c...&dn=0103100009 I see a plug in the bottom but no evidence of a fill plug.

you can fill it through the shifter, but you need to know how much oil goes in there. my sears suburban takes 5 quarts and has a fill plug. easier to pull the shifter and pour it in with a transmission funnel

Thanks guys, I was beginning to consider that shifter idea. I guess I'll pull the frame hole cover, and shifter boot and go from there.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
