Default Local parade

My brothers and I drove three tractors today in the local parade.
1938 Allis Chalmers WF. Bought new by my great grandfather.
1953 Farmall Super M
1957 Farmall 450

The red ones were acquired in the last dozen years just to be dolled up parade queens. Dad was bothered by too many Green ones in the local parade. They'll all be cleaned up and placed in there positions with car covers over them again till next year.

There were many others including the Green ones. Parade was smaller than usual. Fewer firetrucks and only one politician. Many draft horse teams with wagons though.

Ms are my favorite. (Even the Super Ms) You can just dump the clutch in road gear and it'll lug, pull and go.

Sweet pic.

Sounds like fun. I bet the Allis is a bit of a bear to handle in the parade if the speed is inconsistent. Who drew the short straw and had to hand crank that one?

My brother, Mike- second oldest. He likes driving the Allis in the parade. He cranked it up and took right off for the parade line up area. I jumped on the Super M seat and got half a crank out of the starter. Had unbolt the seat/battery flip up cover and grab the jump box. I said heck with it when I got lined up and left her running. Guess the battery is pi$$'d after 6-7 years of just parades and sitting in the barn under cover. It will get a new battery next parade season.

You know, they are equipped with a hand crank.....
The one on dad's M is normally so gunked up with dirt it doesn't work well if you need it. I'm picky on the machines I hand crank anyway, there is a certain "trust" factor involved.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
