Finished up today...
The neighbor who rents our tillable land cut third crop alfalfa today. Well, technically, he/they contract the harvesting. More and more bigger farms around these parts are doing this now days.
All the rain and heat we've been having seem to be helping.  I think of my grandfather, and what he would think of the way harvesting is done now days. They'd never believe it without seeing it.

Thanks for sharing that Todd. That is some serious hay mowing. Takes me back to my hay hauling days with my uncle and grand dad. I hated the alfalfa, it was so heavy and the truck was so high.

Yup. Big money in equipment these days. Had a neighbor that had one of the Krohn Big M mowers for a while.

Seems like you could make a 4' ? Link mower like that for knee high grass, brush, or cut hay , to fit on the 3pt of a cub cadet powered by a 10hp I have not seen one if they do.

We had a windrower with a crimper. The crimper would crack open the stalks of the hay and make it dry quicker. Was interesting to run stuff thru it.
 Dad did custom wind rowing and I was the operator for years. I really liked running it.

I'd run a rabbit or 3 through my mowditioner several times a season.
made them flat with a crimp mark or two on their bodies. I wouldn't see it till I was baling & stacking sometimes. Always thought I missed a marketing opportunity for sun dried rabbit jerky/ chew toys for dogs?
